Gorochu

When Gamefreak formally revealed the existance of Gorochu, the scrapped evolution of Raichu, I knew I wanted to do my own interpretation. The description only specified that it had "fangs and horns", so it left a lot of room to work.

For my version, I wanted to go bigger and meaner, in much the same way as other 3rd evolution pokemon like Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur and Poliwrath. I also went with a squirrel-inspired body (pikachu was originally designed as a squirrel pokemon), giving it a pretty unique look. The twin tails I designed to be like the twin barbs of a stun-gun, taking Raichu's already extended tail and going crazy, and finally the shoulder-pads were a last-minute addition.

I'm actually quite proud of this; this is the first time I've done digital colouring for a few years, and the first time ever I've used a glow effect. It doesn't looks anywhere near as good as it did when I finished it last night (after a fair ammount of whisky), but crap as it may be, I like it.
